Et Incarnatus Chamber Orchestra
During the concerts offered to commemorate the 100 th anniversary of the death of the composer Felipe Gorriti, a band made up of a dozen of young musicians was born in Donostia – San Sebastian in 1996, conducted by Migel Zeberio.
The name “Et Incarnatus (est)” itself refers to the repertoire of the beginnings, when youngs playing F. Gorriti´s mass once and again, became curious about it. The orchestra was about to fill the void, linking music with other artistic fields, willing to approach an alternative free path without tags.
Ever since, it has been gathering a great deal of experience thanks to hard work; the continuous collaboration with many wonderful musicians and composers has forged an interesting and rich way. This gave the orchestra the pleasant opportunity to work in the broad field of music today, -not leaving aside, of course, the important bases of popular music-, and to learn from jazz, pop, signwriting music, movies and contemporary music.
Participants are professional musicians, artists, writers, actors, choreographers coming from multiple backgrounds.
Even if the orchestra is now immersed in producing complex projects, we can say that it has mostly focused on recordings, being already more than forty the ones it has taken part in so far, including Imanol, G. Tejada, Tx. Garcés, M. Erentxun, B. Lertxundi, I. Salvador, G. Benitez, La Buena Vida, A. Unzu, J. Muguruza, M. Paulo, N. de Felipe, B. Mendizabal, E. Elorrieta and many more.
Its participation at both the San Sebastian Musical Fortnight and the Tolosa Choral Contest are noteworthy. We can´t fail to mention the concerts offered at the Donostiako Jazzaldia and the Barcelona Jazz Festival with Phil Woods (2006) , and with Antony & the Johnsons in 2012.
